2010 International Symposium and Workshop on Molecular Biology

The event is all about learning!

It is being organized by Dhruv Pathology and Molecular Diagnostic Lab in Association with the Vidarbha Association of Medical Microbiologists on the 9th and 10th of January 2010. The content of the symposium and the workshop has been decided to give an overview of the developments in the subject and to introduce the participants to some of the tools of molecular biology in use today. Participation is open to all undergraduate, post graduate and PhD students. We also encourage faculty members to be a part of the event. The main objective of the event is to provide the participants an opportunity to interact and learn from the experts in the field and to stimulate the young minds to take up research as a career. Click here for any further information and contact details. I will keep you posted about the developments.

Looking forward for your participation in the event

Connect IT workshop 14th-17th December 2009

What is Connect IT workshop all about?
This is a workshop for the not so very Tech Savvy people. Those who know what a computer is but do not how to use it to it's full potential. The first day was fun introduction. All the participants graded their computer skills on a grade of 1 - 5. There were some as low as 0.5 and some as high as 4... There was one guy with a 2.3 (that was amazing..) We then began learning the basics of MS Word 2007, a lot of it I knew so it would've been boring for me had it not been for Ashutosh and Santosh Sir, both of whom kept us wide awake and attentive too. We moved on the advanced topics of Word and also continued to learn Excel and PowerPoint in a similar fashion. We were also educated about the different social networking tools, online collaborative tools, photo sharing and video sharing tools. Windows movie maker was also dealt with considerable detail and by the end of the workshop we all had a small movie to our credit.

The best part of the workshop was when all of us had to give presentations on the last day, providing an overview of all that we had learned. Some presentations were good some not up to the mark but the bottom line is that we all had a great time making our presentations. It was the first time for many here. We all walk away from the workshop confident, learned and certainly much more tech savvy than we were before. All thanks to the tireless efforts of the faculty and the NASSCOM Foundation.

Keep a lookout for the next workshop on the NASSCOM Foundation website
